Broker's Comments
This is a one-off boat and Boatshed Cornwall are very pleased to have the opportunity to list for sale this Fairey Spear Mk II motor boat.
Originally commissioned by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and is based on the Fairey Spearman, this Fairy Spear still retains some of it’s heritage.
We viewed this boat on the swinging mooring and on approach she looked every bit the fine design it is, even by today’s standards. Once onboard there has been much done to keep this boat as original as possible.
There have been some upgrades with the original design specifications in-keeping with MOD standards, so for example the hull structure has additional material to improve sea-keeping and structural integrity. This can also be evidenced by the oversized bilge pumps too.
If a Fairey Marine boat is something of interest, then as a one-off you will not be disappointed with this. We would highly recommend a viewing just to appreciate this example.
