Two retired Royal Marines, Mick Dawson and Steve "Sparky" Sparkes are taking on the Pacific Ocean with nothing but oars and guts to enable the first trans Pacific row completed by a blind person, whilst taking part in the Great Pacific Race from Monterey Bay, Canada to Honolulu, Hawaii.

They're doing this for Blind Veterans UK, based in Brighton and the Royal Marines Charity.

"Bojangles" will be leaving Brighton Premier Marina boat yard on April 4th - come along, take a look and wave her off!

The race starts on June 2nd, weather permitting and the journey should take between 2 and 3 months - these guys will be rowing two hours on/two hours off, around the clock, for the whole duration!

Thanks to Premier Marina Brighton for their fab support with berthing, lifting and moving!

Everyone at Boatshed Brighton wishes Mick and Sparky fair wind and following seas - we'll be tracking you all the way - best of luck, Royals!
